THE SHEPHERD IS THE STRONGMAN

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Mark 3:23-27, Jn.10:1-3, Gen.4:2, 1Sam.17:20, 1Chro.19:9, Ps.23;1-2, Eph.6:25, Eph.6:4, 1Cor.13:4-7, Num.6:22-24, Gen.2:14-15

Yesterday, I attended my children’s school inter house sport competition. While the games were about to start, there was a match past. I noticed that my daughter had a stick that looked like a rod which she used in guiding those who were marching. I later understood that her job was to guide, keep all the members intact and in order. And she will be held responsible for the team.

So, this morning as I finished praying, the Holy Spirit opened me up to see the connection of the march past of yesterday and the roles of the husbandman as the shepherd.

And he called them unto him and said unto them in parables, how can satan cast out satan? And if a KINGDOM be divided against itself, that KINGDOM cannot stand. And if a HOUSE be divided against itself, that HOUSE cannot stand. And if satan rises up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. NO MAN CAN ENTER INTO A STRONG MAN’S HOUSE, AND SPOIL HIS GOODS, EXCEPT HE WILL FIRST BIND THE STRONG MAN, AND THEN HE WILL SPOIL HIS HOUSE (Mk.3:23-27)

You are the good and godly shepherd and your wife and children are your good and godly sheep. You have the responsibility to guide, guard and provide for them. Like the Scripture clearly tells you and I in Mark chapter 3 and verses 23 through to 27, you are the strong man of your home and no one can enter your home if you do not give them permission. Neither satan, sin nor the world can. This means that the success or failure of your home and sheep lies in your hands. This is why you must do all that you can by the word of the Lord to live up to God’s demands of the good and godly shepherd. You must wake up every day with this consciousness that God has empowered you to act as the good and godly shepherd (Jn.10:1-2).

As the husbandman, God has called unto greater responsibilities. And because He called you to provide good and godly leadership at home, He has also empowered you with power and authority to keep and secure your wife, children and home from the influences of satan, sin and the world (Jn.10:10).

Now is the time to keep your family fold secured. You are the good and godly shepherd.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from spiritual slumber and awaken me unto spiritual fervency.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to stand strong to defend my sheep and sheepfold.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be forward looking over my sheep and sheepfold.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am the good shepherd and I keep my sheep and sheepfold safe and secured from the influences of satan, sin and the world because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
