KEEP THE KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST IN YOU, BURNING

As the good and godly husbandman, you must be aware that the most valuable asset you have that the devil, your adversary, wants to steal from you is not your health, finance, strength, relationship or peace. It is the knowledge of Jesus Christ. The more of Christ and His word you have at work in you, the more powerful you will be in your spirit, soul, body and other areas of life (3Jn.1:2). This is why you must guard the knowledge of Jesus Christ in you from being stolen by satan, sin and the world.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth (1Tim.2:3-4)

If you and I must succeed in our journey to becoming the good and godly husbandman, we must come to the knowledge of the truth of God’s word. We must not only uphold the knowledge of Jesus and His word, we must also war with it to win over the challenges that may come our way as we lead our lives, wife and children.

But how does the knowledge of the truth of God’s word help me to become the good and godly man, husband and father?

And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (Jn.8:32)

Firstly, the knowledge of the truth in your life empowers you to know the perfect will of God for your life as the man, husband, father, wife and children. The knowledge of Jesus Christ further helps you to be like Jesus in all things and at all times. Secondly, the power of the knowledge of the truth in you keeps you far away from you every form of ungodliness. It is that same knowledge that empowers you to do and stand for what is right notwithstanding the cost. Thirdly, it is the knowledge of the truth that sets you free from every trap of the devil that is aimed at making you unfit as the godly man, husband and father. In John Gospel chapter 8, the word of God speaks of the power of deliverance in the knowledge of the truth in Christ.

So, how does the devil fight to ensure that I don’t get filled up with the knowledge of the truth of the life of Jesus Christ?

The first thing he uses against you is take the desire to study the Bible away from you. And when he does that you become empty of the word of God to walk through the challenges of life. Hence the word of God for you in this,

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly diving the word of truth (2Tim.2:15)

The second trick he uses against you is to take you away from fellowshipping with other brethren in worship, praise and prayers. When you fellowship with other brethren in your local church in prayer, word study, praise and worship, you strengthen yourself both in your area of strength and weakness. The Scriptures command us not to neglect the company of our brethren.

Now, for you to secure the knowledge of the truth from being stolen from you by satan, sin and the world, you have to build a deeper relationship with the Person of the Holy Spirit (Jn.14:26). The Person of the Holy Spirit empowers you to desire the word with passion, reveals the word to you and makes you enjoy the fellowship with the word. Secondly, you must see God as your father who desires fellowship (Ps.1:1-2). Thirdly, you must make prayer and fasting your lifestyle and a routine that you must enjoy because it connects you to the power of God for a victorious living (Lk.18:1).

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me a teachable spirit to learn of Your way, truth and life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus empower me by Your Spirit to seek after You.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me hearing ears and seeing eyes to behold wondrous things out of Your word and fellowship with other brethren.

FAITH CONFESSION

I take delight in studying the WORD OF GOD and partnering with the Person of the Holy Spirit to keep the knowledge of the truth because that is what I need to secure my heritage as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
