Bible Texts: Lk.15:11-18, Ps.51:1-10, Lam.3:22, Rom.6:1, 2Cor.5:17, Rom.12:1-3, Jn.3:16, Heb.13:8, Ps.1:1-3, 1Jn.5:17, Philp.2:13
The message for today is that of repentance and restoration for the husbandman who has backslide and fallen into sin and error. The Spirit of the Lord is saying to you as you read this devotion that you should return to your heavenly Father, regardless of how far you have gone disobeying the commandments of God for you as the man, husband and father. Your heavenly Father’s arm is wide open to receive you and forgive you of all your trespasses.
Consider for a moment the event that occurred in Luke Gospel chapter 15.
I will arise and go to my father and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee (Lk.15:18)
The Scripture in Luke chapter 15 tells the action the way-ward son of the rich man took while he lived a sinful life. The son realized that he had wronged his father. He discovered he had disobeyed and gone against the will of his father. Rather than remain in that sinful life, he said to himself, “I will arise and go to my father”. He arose and went back to the waiting hand of his father, who restored him. That is what God wants from you.
God wants to restore you back to sonship-a life of honour, dignity and responsibility. God wants you to live a righteous life and do what He commands you to do as the good and godly man, husband and father. God doesn’t hate you, He only hates the sin and the sinful life you are living.
But why will God love me despite my sinful life?
For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten son; and whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life (Jn.3:16)
God’s love for you is not negotiable. He loved you yesterday. He still loves you today and He will continue to love you till eternity. His loving kindness is ever new and He wants you to return to Him.
I know that you are ready to return to God through Jesus Christ for the restoration of your life. I want you to please, pray the prayer in Psalms 51 from verses 1 to the end.
As you return to your heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, in sincere repentance, you must never allow satan and the world to blackmail by reminding you of your past. Anytime it happens you must be conscious of your new life in Christ (Rom.8:1, 2Cor.5:17).
Glory be to Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
