LET GO THE PAST. STAND FIRM, STAND FAST IN CHRIST!

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Gal.5:1, Jn.10:10, Ps.133:2, Jn.8:32, Rom.6:18, 1Pet.2:16, Acts 15:10, Eph.5:25, Rom.5:5, Eph.6:4, Col.3:16

Today’s message is for a husbandman who is living in regrets and guilt and it is negatively affecting his relationship with God, his wife and children. God wants you to be free. God wants you to move forward in goodness with him and with your wife and children. You can be free!

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (Gal.5:1).

As the husbandman, God wants you to stand firm and hold onto the freedom Christ has procured for you through His death and resurrection. God doesn’t want you to be bound by your past mistakes any more.

Jesus Christ has freed you from guilt. Perhaps you have taken actions or said words that you regret and feel guilty about. God doesn’t want you to live in regret rather He wants you to repent and make amend and walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus.

You must remember that Jesus Christ has freed you from hate, bitterness, envy, unforgiveness, unfaithfulness, fear and all forms of unrighteousness. As the good and godly husbandman, you don’t have to hate your wife and children and be bitter towards them. You can love your wife as Christ has loved the Church (Eph.5:25). You can nurture your children in the way and admonition of the Lord (Eph.6:4). You can forgive and forget the mistakes, weakness of your wife and children through the love of Christ because that is the liberty Christ has brought to you (Rom.5:5).

Now, for you to stand firm and fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has freed you, you must have and continue to maintain a personal relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ by repenting of your sins and accepting Him as your Lord and personal savior and fellowshipping with Him (Ps.133:2, 2Cor.5:17, Jn.3:3-7). Secondly, you must study the Word of God and allow the words of Scripture to dominate your thoughts and act on the word, as a way of life (Col.3:16). Finally, you must continue to declare by faith, what Christ has freed you from and confess your new life in Christ, regardless the situations (Rom.10:10).

As the husbandman, God wants you to be good and godly. God wants you to have a quality and healthy relationships with Him, your wife and children. Therefore, you must stand fast and firm in the perfect will of God for your life as the man, husband and father, and walk in the light of the freedom in Christ Jesus.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for living in guilt and satanic bondage.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk in the freedom You have gotten for me through Jesus Christ.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to think, speak and walk in the truth Your word for me as the man, husband and father.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am no longer a slave to satan, sin and the world; I am the child of God, therefore, I am free from guilt and condemnation and I now live in the liberty in Christ Jesus because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
