SIN CANNOT HAVE POWER OVER YOU AGAIN!

Today’s teaching is to remind every husbandman that the times we live in are perilous and deceitfulness times where sin is abounding in more ways than any time in human history. Hence, you and I must be alert spiritually and take our stand for righteousness and holiness as men, husbands and fathers.

There are so many contentions and temptations that the husbandman is daily confronted with and this fierce battle is designed to make him live below the bar God has set for him. The pressure to compromise and be ashamed to declare our stand for Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, weighs on us. On a regular basis, satan, sin, and the world throw at us things that seem attractive but offer death and destruction in the end. Sadly, many husbandmen have fallen while others are standing. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that you shall not fall. Amen.

But what did the Scripture say about you, living above and having dominion over sin?

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but yield yourself unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for ye are not under the law but under grace (Rom.6:12-14)

The Bible says that you have dominion over sin. This means that you have control over what your body wants. It also means that you can make your body an instrument of righteousness by not yielding to adultery, addiction to pornography, fornication, stealing, murder, lying, deceitfulness, unfaithfulness and all other sinful natures.

Take a deep breath and read these words from the word of God.

We are more than conquerors (Rom.8:37)

You are not just a conqueror but you are more than a victor. Do not remain in that sinful life that you are involved in. Do not conclude on your life that there is nothing you can do to come out of that sinful life. You must therefore make yourself available to God and live a righteous life.

However, there are steps you must take to live a life of dominion over sin. Firstly, you must give your life to Jesus Christ by confessing all your sins to Him and invite Him to come into your life (Jn.3:3-8, 2Cor.5:17). Secondly, you must consciously make Jesus Christ the LORD over your life and everything that you represent (Acts 10:30-36). Thirdly, you must deliberately feed on the word of God-the Bible-as a lifestyle (Ps.1:1-4, Jn.8:32). The more of God’s word you have in you, the more knowledge you have to distinguish the lies of satan and the world from the truth from God. Fourthly, you must continue to pray and declare your righteous stand in Jesus Christ because Christ has made you His righteousness (Lk.18:1, Rom.10:10).

Sin cannot have dominion over you. Take your stand in righteousness! It is the pathway to a glorious destiny as the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and errors and please come into my life and be my Lord and Saviour.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to have dominion over the works of satan, sin and the world.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be conscious of my righteous stand in You and make me live it.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am the righteousness of God in Christ and that empowers me to have dominion over the works of satan, sin and the world thereby making me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
