YOU HAVE A BETTER COVENANT IN CHRIST

Bible Texts: Gal.3:13-14, 2Cor.5:17, Rev.5:9, Is.43:1, Rev.12:11, Rom.8:1, Is.60:1-2, Rom.12:2, Heb.12:4, Jn.3:7, Rom. 10:10,

During one of our church services, the pastor led the church to pray for a disconnection from generational curses. He specifically asked us to pray that whatever our fathers suffered shall not be our portion in our families. It was a timely prayer point for every husbandman. And when I got back to the office the next day, I was studying the book of Galatians when light shone from Galatians chapter 3 and verse 13.  It reads thus.

But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When He was hung on the Cross, He took upon Himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree (Gal.3:13)

As the husbandman and the head of your family, you may have noticed in your family lineage some negative occurrences that have repeated themselves from generation to generation. It may be in areas of finances, health, marriage, child bearing, education, job and so much more and you are afraid that you and your wife and children may suffer the same satanic repetition of evil occurrence.

Fear not! I want to assure that you have nothing to fear because you have a better covenant in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ has rescued you and your wife and children from the curse of the law. Jesus Christ died for you and I so that we can be free from the consequences of the negative actions or inactions of our forefathers. The Scripture has this assurance policy for you from 2Corinthians 5 and verse 17.

If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new (2Cor.5:17)

You are a new creature. You have a new lineage in Christ. You have a new family in Christ. You can recreate a new and a better ways for your life and the lives of your wife and children in every aspect.

But for you to live in this realm of newness of life where you and your wife and children are exempted from generational curses, you must be born again (Jn.3:7). This demands that you must surrender your life to Jesus, the Person who destroys curses. And if by chance, you have backslidden, you can rededicate your life to Jesus Christ. He is the God of several chances.

Secondly, you must live in the consciousness of your new creation status (Rom.12:2, Rom.10:10).

The Scripture says this.

Let this mind be in you even the mind of Christ

You must think newness. You must think freedom. You must think exemption. You must confess your newness in Christ. You must confess your liberty. You must act and behave freedom and newness of life. This is because as a man thinks in his heart so is he.

Always remember that because it doesn’t take more than one person to bring curses to a family, it will not require more than one man to reverse the curses and bring blessings. And the person to lead the pack to reverse the curses and bring light to yourself, your wife, children and home, is you. You are God’s agent for a positive turnaround (Gen.12:1-3). That is your mandate.

Rejoice!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the consciousness of who I am in Christ Jesus.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the reality of Your blessing be evident in my life and in my family.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, make my new creation status a reality and help me to walk in it.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am seated with Jesus Christ, far above the curses of life, because that is where I belong and I bring my wife and children into that realm because I am the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
