THE TEST OF FAITH

Spread the love

Bible Texts: 1Pet.1:7-8, Matt.6:22, Gen.12:2, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:23, Eph.5:25-29, 1Tim.3:4, Col.3:19, Eph.6:4, Deut.6:7-8, Jer.1:10-12, Dan.1:8

In leading your life as the husbandman, there will be challenges and temptations. These challenges or temptations are designed to build you up in righteousness and goodness, leading you to becoming the good and godly man, husband and father. It is the test of your faith in God and His word for your life as the good and godly man, husband and father. So do not consider suicide or abandonment or regrets as an option.

Wherein ye greatly rejoice though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations. That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen, ye love, in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls (1Pet.1:7-9)

The word of God in 1st Peter chapter 1 and verses 7 through to 9 says that the challenges confronting you today, whether in your relationship with your wife and children, or with your spiritual growth and development, or with your finances and health or godly character development, is for a season and it is the test of your faith. This means that you will overcome if you do not give up on God and His word that gives victory.

You must remember that it is by faith in God and His word that you lead your wife and children in the way and admonition of the Lord; love them even when they seem not to deserve it; provide for them; sacrifice your convenience for them; forgive and forget their offences. So, your faith God and His word to help you do all of these will be tried and tested just like gold is. Hold on! Stay on!

But how do I pass the test of faith as I lead my life, and the lives of my wife and children as the man, husband and father?

You must stay focused on the plans and purposes of God for your life as the good and godly husbandman.

If thy eyes be single, thy whole body will be full of light (Matt.6:22)

God wants you to look to Him and His word and not the challenges for help (Jer.1:10-12, Dan.1:8). And as you look to Him and remain steadfast in His plan for your life as the husbandman, He will guide you through those temptations and challenges and give you victory. You must also keep confessing the promises of God, declaring His counsel and praying the revealed word in hope (Rom.5:5, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29).

You must always remember that you do not become the good and godly husbandman by chance or luck. You are made and refined onto maturity through the test of your faith.

You are an overcomer!

Hallelujah!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me by Your Spirit to see challenges as the trial of my faith.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to remain steadfast in Your promises and help me to focus on Your vision for my life as the man, husband and father.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me more than a conqueror in all life’s tests.

FAITH CONFESSION

The test of my faith is for a moment and I remain steadfast on the promises of God and I focus my eyes on the glorious destinies that God has prepared for me as the man, husband and father because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
