Bible Texts: Lk.12:20-21, Gen.3:1-4, 3Jn.1:2, Gen.17:1-3, Jer.29:11, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, 2Tim.2:15, Philp.2:13, Gal.4:19, Jn.15:2-5, Jn.14:26, Ps.24:1-2
I have come to discover that the husbandman’s greatest treasure is to love Jesus Christ. And if he can maintain a quality walk with the Person of Jesus Christ, it becomes easier for him to function like the good and godly man, husband and father.
But God said unto him, thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee, then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God (Lk.12:20-21)
The word God above says that the perfect will of God for the husbandman is to have a quality walk with Jesus Christ far above any other person or thing. This is because your relationship with Jesus Christ is the greatest heritage you will ever possess as you journey the path to your glorious destiny as the good and godly husbandman.
But how do I have a quality walk with God through Jesus Christ and what impact will it make in my life?
You must be born again (Jn.3:3-7). This requires that you confess your sins to God, repent of them and ask Jesus Christ to come into your life to be your personal Lord and Saviour (2Cor.5:17, Ps.24:1-2). You must make the Bible your trusted friend by studying it and meditating on what it instructs and commands (Ps.1:1-3, Jn.5:39, 2Tim.2:15). The more you study the Bible, the more you know the mind of God concerning what He wants you to do as the man, husband and father. And as you think on what God says about you, the Spirit behind the word of God will gain root in your heart and gradually begin to transform your life, beginning with your thoughts (Ezk.2:2 , Rom.12:1-2). You must also pray for the reality of what God has said in His word to manifest in your life by the help of the Person of the Holy Ghost. This is because it is neither by power nor by power but by the Spirit of God can you live the good and godly life as the husbandman (Jn.14:26, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, Jn.15:3-5).
A walk with Jesus Christ is a walk of peace and joy. It does not only profit you here on earth, it also profits you in eternity. Therefore, be intentional about having a quality walk and relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
When you have a quality relationship with God through Jesus Christ, it will help you lead the good and godly life as the man, husband and father, reflecting in the way you think, talk, react and respond to the issues of life.
Hallelujah!
