WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Heb.11:1-3, Hab.2:4, Rom.10:17, Jn.15:5, Heb.11:6, Mk.9:23, Rom.10:10, Rom.4:17, Gal.4:19, Jos.1:6-8, Heb.11:30-32

The just shall live by faith……..( Hab.2:4)

One of the important virtues the husbandman needs to fulfill his covenant responsibilities as the man, husband and father as commanded from the word of God is faith. This is why the word of God in Habakkuk chapter 2 and verse 4 says that the justified shall live by faith.

As the husbandman, God wants you to have faith in Him and His word. He also wants you to live by faith by obeying all His commandments and instructions as they relate to what you must do as the good and godly man, husband and father (Mk.9:23). Faith in God and His word and acting on the word of God is the supernatural force you require to triumph over the works of satan, sin and the world that want to hinder your progress, development and growth into the stature and likeness of Jesus Christ (Heb.11:32-33).

But why do I need to live by faith?

You need faith to stand in the place of prayers and intercession for yourself so that you can fulfill the perfect will of God for your life as the good and godly man, husband and father (Gal.4:19, 1Tim.5:8, 2Thess.3:10). You also need to live by faith and not by sight in order to please God (Heb.11:6).

In order for you to live and lead by faith in God and His word and triumph as the husbandman, you must invest your time in the word of God by studying it, thinking about what it says (Jos.1:6-8, Rom.10:17). The more you give attention to the word of God in seeking His plan for your life as the husbandman, the stronger you become in believing God and His word.

You must also engage the weapon of prayer and fasting to build your capacity to act promptly and confidently on what the word of God says which you have read and believed (Mk.9:29, Lk.18:1, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13). Praying the word of God into your life empowers your faith to obtain the promises of God for your calling as the husbandman.

Finally, you must be consistent in confessing the word of God for your life as the good and godly man, husband and father regardless of the circumstances (Rom.10:10). This means that you must discipline your tongue to speak only what God says and not what satan, sin, the world and your circumstance is saying.

God perfect will for you is to live by faith in Him and His word. God wants you to live a victorious life and fulfill His mandate on your life as the good and godly man, husband and father.

Glory be to God in the highest!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my heart to Your words and help me to receive Your instructions with gladness.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour upon me a greater measure of the Spirit of faith as I lead as the man, husband and father.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to discipline my tongue so that I will only be speaking what You say and not what I see.

FAITH CONFESSION

I have the word of God in me and I believe the word of God and I take bold steps of faith as the man, husband and father because that is what empowers me to become the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
