GIVE JESUS CHRIST YOUR HEART, HE NEEDS YOU!

My son, give me thine heart and let thine eyes observe my ways (Pr.23:26)

The word of God in Proverbs chapter 23 and verse 26 is the desire of God for the husbandman reading today’s devotional. And God is asking you to give Him your heart because He wants to make you the good and godly man, husband and father.

As the husbandman, you are a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God (Rom.12:1-3). God is interested in you and wants you to give Him your heart. God wants you to give Him your heart because the quality of your heart influences the quality of your life.

But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart, and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things that defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands defileth not a man (Matt.15:18-20)

Your heart is the seat where your thoughts are formed and actions decided. If your heart is right, your conduct will also be right because out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

But why does God want me to give Him my heart?

God wants your heart so that He can feed it with graceful seeds that will mould you to have self control over your emotions, desires, and expectations. God wants your heart so that He can whisper to you His wisdom on how to respond to the issues of life as the man, husband and father. God wants your heart so that He can clean you up from every form of filthiness sitting in your heart and manifesting in your life.

If thou be willing and obedient, thou shalt eat the fruit of the land (Is.1:18-19)

But for you to give your heart to God and become a living sacrifice, you must accept that your life needs help and you must be willing to seek His face in fellowship through salvation, word study, meditation and prayer (Ps.119:11, Pro.4:22-25, Jn.15:5, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13).

As the husbandman, you cannot be better than the quality of what is in your heart. So, as you give God your heart, He will help you to reorder your thoughts according to His words and perfect will which will influence your words, actions and conduct, thereby making you the good and godly man, husband and father.

Your heavenly Father wants the best for you, and so giving Him your heart and allowing Him to have His way will be your joy. Are you ready and willing to give Jesus Christ your heart?

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for not giving You the rightful place in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I give You my heart and invite You to be the Lord of my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be the good and godly example of the man, husband and father in my thoughts, words and actions.

FAITH CONFESSION

I give my heart to Jesus so that He can be Lord over my life because I want my thought, will, emotion, conduct and responses to reflect the true nature of the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
