Bible Texts: Philp.3:10, 1Tim.2:3-4, Jn.8:32, Ps.35:27, Jn.16:22, 2Tim.2:15, Jn.10:10, 3Jn.1:2, Jn.14:26, Lk.18:1, Ps.1:1-3
That I may know Him and the power of His salvation (Philp.3:10)
As the good and godly husbandman, you must be aware that the most valuable asset you have that the devil, your adversary, wants to steal from you is not your health, finance, strength, relationship or peace. It is the knowledge of Jesus Christ! This is because the knowledge of Christ at work in you empowers you to act in ways that please God and makes you victorious in all areas of your life. This is why you must guard the knowledge of Jesus Christ in you from being stolen by satan, sin and the world.
But how does the knowledge of the truth of God’s word help me to become the good and godly man, husband and father?
And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (Jn.8:32)
Firstly, the knowledge of the truth in your life empowers you to know the perfect will of God for your life as the man, husband, father, wife and children. Secondly, the knowledge of the truth in you keeps you far away from every form of ungodliness. It is also empowers you to do and stand for what is right notwithstanding the cost. Thirdly, the knowledge of the truth sets you free from every trap of the devil that is aimed at making you unfit as the godly man, husband and father.
So, how do satan and the world fight to ensure that I don’t get filled up with the knowledge of the truth of the life of Jesus Christ?
By taking away from you the desire to study the Bible. When the desire to study the Bible is taken away from you, you become empty in the knowledge of the truth of the life of Jesus Christ and unable to function as the good and godly man, husband and father.
Hence the word of God admonishes you to do this.
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2Tim.2:15)
Satan and the world also take away from you the desire to fellowship with other brethren in worship, praise and prayers either in your local church or other Christian meetings. This is because when you fellowship with other brethren, you are strengthened spiritually.
Hence, the word of God commands you to do this.
How good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell in unity (Ps.133:1-2)
You must recognize that satan, sin and the world are daily contesting with your desire to live the life of the good and godly man, husband and father. You must therefore be alert in your spirit, soul and body and take responsibility to seek the knowledge of Jesus Christ for your continued growth and development as the good and godly husbandman.
Hallelujah!
