ALLOW JESUS TO BUILD YOU

Bible Texts: Ps.127:1-2, Heb.11:6, Jn.15:3-5, 1Pet.5:5, Acts 15:16, Matt.7:7, Ps.51:10, Lk.18:1, Eph.6:4, Col.3:17-19, Gal.4:19

As we journey the path of becoming the good and godly husbandman, it is very important for you to acknowledge that only Jesus Christ can build you up in His nature. Hence, today’s teaching is to remind you of the need to lean on Jesus to build you up as the good and goodly man, husband and father.

Except the Lord builds the city, they labour in vain that build it; except the Lord watches over the city the watchmen waketh but in vain (Ps.127:1)

The word of God in Psalm 127 says that except God builds and watches over your life as the man, husband and father, you will not attain the fullness of your heritage as the good and godly husbandman. This is why it is wisdom to make Jesus the Lord over all and give Him first place in your life.

But why does Jesus Christ want to build me up?

God is interested in the good of your life and home. God wants you to prosper and be respected and honoured as the man, husband and father. God wants you to function optimally with proofs and results as the good and godly man, husband and father. But you will need to invite Him before He can be involved (Jer.33:3, Acts 10:32-36).

Call unto me and I will answer you (Jer.33:3)

But there are two important attitudes you must have when you are inviting Jesus Christ to build your life as the man, husband and father.

The first is that you must believe that when you invite Him to your life, He will come.

Without  faith, it is impossible to please him, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Heb.11:6)

The second is that you must come to Him in the humility of your heart because you need His presence and helps.

Without me, ye can do nothing (Jn.15:4-5).

Your education is good. Your financial status is also good. The position you hold is good too. But none of these can build you to become the good and godly husbandman after the character and nature of Jesus Christ. Therefore, you must engage with God through Jesus Christ our Lord, to build and watch over your life as you lead at the home front and in the market place so that you can enjoy the God kind of peace, joy and success, making you to fulfill your covenant calling as the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, come and take Your rightful place in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to trust You and Your word at all times.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, please build me and watch over my life as the man, husband and father and make me a useful vessel.

FAITH CONFESSION

I willingly surrender my life and family to God to build and watch over because I know He will help me to become the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
