YOU HAVE DOMINION OVER THE POWER OF INIQUITY

Bible Texts: Rom.6:13-14, Rom.12:1-2, Lk.10:19, Heb.12:4, Rom.8:2, 2Cor.5:17, Matt.5:14-16, Rev.12:10-12, Ps.24:1-3, Ps.1:1-4, Jos.1:6-8, Rom.10:10

As the good and godly husbandman, there are so many contentions and temptations that confront you. The pressure on you to compromise biblical standards in the market place is as real as day and night. The landmines set by satan, sin and the world to make you fall, weighs even more now than ever before. Nevertheless, God has made you to overcome them all.

This is what the Scripture says about your dominion over sin?

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but yield yourself unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for ye are not under the law but under grace (Rom.6:12-14)

The Bible says that you have dominion over sin. This means that you have control over what your spirit, soul and body wants, hence your life is not an instrument of unrighteousness. As the husbandman, you have dominion over the forces of adultery, addiction to pornography, fornication, stealing, murder, lying, deceitfulness, unfaithfulness and all other sinful natures.

This is why you have dominion.

We are more than conquerors (Rom.8:37)

Jesus Christ completed the victory over satan, sin and the world on the cross of Calvary. He declared that it is finished and He handed over to you the victory. Therefore, you must not remain in that sinful life that you are involved in. You must therefore make yourself available to God and live a righteous life.

However, there are steps you must take to live a life of dominion over sin. Firstly, you must give your life to Jesus Christ by confessing all your sins to Him and invite Him to come into your life (Ps.51:1-10, Jn.3:3-8, 2Cor.5:17). Secondly, you must consciously make Jesus Christ the LORD over your life and everything that you represent (Acts 10:30-36). Thirdly, you must deliberately feed on the word of God-the Bible-as a lifestyle (Ps.1:1-4, Jn.8:32). The more of God’s word you have in you, the more knowledge you have to distinguish the lies of satan and the world and the truth from God words. Fourthly, you must continue to declare your righteous stand in Jesus Christ because you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (Rom.10:10).

Sin cannot have dominion over you, any more. Take your stand in righteousness!
