STRENGTHEN YOUR SPIRIT MAN

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Heb.12:12-13, Is.40:31, Gen.17:1, Rom.12:2, Eph.5:26, Jn.6:63, Hag.1:7, Pro.4:18, Jn.10:10, Gal.4:19, Rev.12:10-11, Ezk.2:2

As the month of September ends today, it is important for you and I to appreciate an important commitment we must give ourselves to as we enter the last quarter of the year 2024. And that commitment is the renewal of our spirit man by the word of God, prayers, fasting and fellowship with other good and godly brethren.

Many husbandmen make daily decisions to renew their physical bodies but fail to renew their spirit man. We change our clothes but not our attitude. We replace our worn out shoes but not our ungodly behaviour. If you and I must lead and become the true reflection of what God wants us to be as good and godly husbandmen, we must make a decision to walk before God and be like Him in all things through Jesus by strengthening our spirit man.

Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed (Heb.12:12-13)

Reading through the above Bible passage, you will discover a call to personal responsibility. It says, “strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees, make level paths for your feet”. If you want to continue to be relevant and useful as the good and godly man, husband and father, you must take personal responsibility to strengthen your spiritual life. This is because the quality of your investment in your spiritual growth, development and renewal will impact on the quality of your life as the husbandman.

But how do I strengthen my spiritual life and become the perfect husbandman?

Feed your mind on a daily basis with the word of God by studying, meditating and acting on it (Ps.1:1-2, Rom.12:2).

Search the Scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life and they are they which testify of me…(Jn.5:39)

Engage the power of prayer to access the Spirit behind the word of God (Ezk.2:2).

It is the Spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I speak to you, for they are spirit and they are life (Jn.6:63)

The word of God is the Spirit of God in print. Engaging the prayer altar on the basis of the word of God empowers the word to become real to you and enables you to act on the word of God with joy (Philp.2:15, Gal.4:19).

Therefore, strengthening your spiritual life is the foundation upon which the success of your assignments as the good and godly man, husband and father is built. Give yourself to this important commitment.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, I surrender my life to You and to the influence of Your word.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to exercise myself unto godliness.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to give myself to building my spiritual life.

FAITH CONFESSION

I exercise myself in the truth of God’s word to strengthen and renew my spirit man in order for my life to be ruled by what the word of commands and instructs because that is what keeps me growing as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
