GOD WANTS YOU TO BE A RIGHTEOUS PATTERN

Spread the love

Bible Texts: 1Tim.1:15-16, Dan.1:8, Jn.3:3, Gal.4:19, Matt.5:14-16, Eph.5:25-29, Col.3:19, Rom.12:21, Eph.6:4, 2Thess.3:10, Ps.24:1-2, 1Cor.13:4-9, Rom.12:21, Ps.1:1-3

As we continue with our teaching on how the husbandman can be like the Person of Jesus Christ by taking personal responsibility in his commitment and actions, let us consider another covenant commandment from the word of the Lord for the husbandman.

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, FOR A PATTERN TO THEM WHICH SHOULD HEREAFTER BELIEVE ON HIM TO LIFE EVERLASTING (1Tim.1:15-16)

The word of God tells us of the importance of setting a pattern after Jesus Christ. This means living a life that reflects the character, nature and image of the Person of Jesus Christ at home and to the world.

What does this mean to the husbandman? It means that as the husbandman, God has a pattern that He wants you to follow and live by and the Bible provides you with the template on how you are expected to live your life as the good and godly man, husband and father. I want you to spend time today to read these Scriptures, with the Person of the Holy Spirit guiding you. The word of the Lord from these Bible passages will enhance your understanding on today’s teaching-Gen.2:14-18, Matt.19:5, Num.30:1-end, Deut.6:6-9, Eph.5:25-29, 2Thess.3:10, 1Tim.5:8, Eph.6:4, Col.3:19, Gal.4:19, Matt.5:14-16.

But you cannot set a pattern for your life that conforms with the very image and likeness of Jesus Christ unless and until you have done these things.

Jesus answered, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (Jn.3:3)

Firstly, you must have a personal relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ through salvation. You must not only repent of your sins and invite Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and personal Saviour, you must maintain and continue your relationship with Him with fear and reverence (2Cor.5:17).

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the kings’ meat, nor with the wine which he drank….. (Dan.1:8)

The second commitment you must make is to take your stand in God’s word, just as Daniel did, to do only what God commands, whether it is popular or not, convenient or not.

I travailed in birth until Christ is formed in you (Gal.4:19)

And you must daily engage the weapon of prayers and fasting so that you can be empowered to reflect the pattern of Christ in your life because a lot of the times, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

God wants you to be like Jesus Christ. Therefore, His grace is sufficient for you to set good and godly patterns from the word of God that will make you become the good and godly man, husband and father in your home and in the market place.

Hallelujah!
