PRAYING ALWAYS WITH ALL SUPPLICATION

Bible Texts: Eph.6:18, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, Lk.10:19, Heb.11:11:2, Jn.3:3-5, Heb.11:6, Ps.24:1-2, Heb.10:35, Jn.10:10, 2Tim.2:15, 2Cor.5:17

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Eph.6:18)

Praying as a lifestyle is the husbandman’s greatest spiritual attitude that he must develop and have if he wants to continue to remain relevant and useful in his journey as the good and godly man, husband and father.

Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, admonishes you and I to pray always.

Men ought always to pray and not faint (Lk.18:1)

As the husbandman, you must keep the fire on your prayer altar aflame. You must keep your communication with your heavenly Father open. This is the only way you can connect to God and His power which empowers you to overcome the challenges and obstacles set on your journey to becoming the good and godly shepherd.

Jesus says,

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the powers of the enemy (Lk.10:19)

The authority and power you need to be in command of the affairs of your life as the man, husband and father, can only be activated by the weapon of prayer. You need the empowerment of God to lead a successful life as the good and godly husbandman because without the power of Jesus Christ you can do nothing (Jn.15:5).

However, there is one very important foundation you need that will help you pray aright and get answers from God. It is to study the word of God.

Study to show thyself approved as a workman unto God that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2Tim.2:15)

When you pray, you must pray with the word of God. This is why you must study the word of God as a lifestyle to know the mind of God and pray according to His perfect will.

Another foundation you will require to access the power of God for a victorious life is walking in the fear and admonition of the Lord. After you are born again, you must ensure that you do only those things that will please God and bring honour to His name (Jn.3:3-5, Ps.24:1-2, 2Cor.5:17).

Finally, you must walk by faith in God and be hopeful in His word (Heb.10:35, Heb.11:2). God answers prayers when you call but you must call on Him by faith (Heb.11:6)

In this end time, you and I must recognize that there is a fierce battle raging against the husbandman. Satan, sin and the world are contending against the husbandman’s design to becoming good and godly (Jn.10:10). You and I cannot overcome the devilish forces except we are empowered by the Holy Ghost which comes from our prayer altar. This is why you and I must pray without ceasing and praying always in all supplications because that is the surest way we can remain on track to becoming the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour upon me the spirit of grace and supplication.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, stir up a prayer revival in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to pray aright and give me victory.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am endued by the spirit of grace and supplication and by this enablement I am empowered to always pray according to the perfect will of God, thereby making me to live as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
