The perfect will of God for the husbandman is for him to grow and become like His Son, Jesus Christ. And this requires a personal commitment from the husbandman to have the image of and be like Jesus Christ.
Now read this word of the Lord in Genesis chapter 17.
Walk before me and be ye perfect (Gen.17:1-3)
God says to the husbandman, Abraham, to walk before Him and be perfect. And that is exactly what God is calling you to do. To walk before God means to please Him by obeying all His commandments and to be perfect means manifesting the character of Jesus Christ which are patient, kindness, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, giving, faithfulness, sacrifices, and so much more (Ps.24:1, Rom.12:1-2, 1Cor.13:1-8, Gal.5:22-23). It is your complete obedience and manifestation of the Christ-like nature that build you up into the image and likeness of the good and godly man, husband and father.
But how do I walk before Jesus Christ and be perfect?
The first is that you must receive Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and personal savior and reconcile with Him by repenting of your sins (Jn.3:1-5, 2Cor.5:17). Secondly, you must deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ in order to know Him more and more. This means that you must give attention to the study of the word of God by searching it daily and making a decision to do only what pleases Him. You must also fellowship with other good and godly husbandmen (Jn.6:61-63, Jn.5:39, Jn.8:32, 1Cor.2:15, Philp.3:10). Finally, you must engage the weapon of faith in God and His word by prayer, fasting and confessing the perfect will of God for you from His word (Heb.11:6, Mk.9:29, Lk.18:1, Rom.10:10, Gal.2:13, Gal.4:19).
God wants you to know His Son, Jesus, who is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, more and more. God’s wants you to be like Jesus Christ in all things and for all things. God wants you to walk before Him and be matured in all you do as the husbandman.
Therefore, abide in Christ and He will abide in you.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, let Your word dwell richly in me.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to know You more and more.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
FAITH CONFESSION
I walk before God, in the light of His words and do only those things that please Him because that is the pathway to becoming the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
