BUILDING UP YOURSELF BY FAITH

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Jude 1:20-21, 2Tim.2:15, Jn.5:39, 2Cor.3:18, Philp.3:10-14, Jos.1:6-8, Mk.9:29, Lk.18:1, Heb.11:1-2

As the husbandman, what do I need and how do I build myself to become the good and godly man, husband and father, in the face of the numerous challenges? This is the question before us this morning and the answer is found in the word of God.

But ye beloved, building up yourself on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. Keep yourself in the love of God for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life (Jude 1:20-21)

The word of God tells us that you and I have the responsibility to build up ourselves by faith in God and His word. This means that we will not become the good and godly husbandman by chance or by luck but by faith.

Now that I know that I must be personally responsible for my faith because the just shall live by his faith, what are the areas I need to develop myself by faith so that I can function maximally as the good and godly husbandman?

You must build yourself by faith in the knowledge of the word of God.

But we all with an open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory , even as by the Spirit of the Lord (2Cor.3:18)

The more you look into the word of God for the things spoken concerning as the man, husband and father, the more you are transformed into the image of Jesus Christ in your conduct, action, thought and relationship with your wife and children (Rom.12:2).

You must also contend for your inheritance as the godly husbandman by faith.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write to you and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 1:3)

You must, by faith, contend in prayers and fasting for those godly virtues of faithfulness, forgiveness, tender- mercy, compassion, loving-kindness, diligence, courage, holiness, giving, faith, hope and joy to manifest in your life as the good and godly husbandman.

The walk of faith is personal and you require it to succeed in your roles as the godly man, husband and father.
