How best do you explain that you are the good and godly husbandman? It is by the fruits you bear. Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman says that by their fruits you shall know them.
Now, consider the word of God in 1st Timothy chapter 3 to understand the fruits you must bear as proofs that you are the good and godly man, husband and father.
This is a true saying, if a man desire the OFFICE OF A BISHOP, he desireth a GOOD WORK. A bishop then MUST BE BLAMELESS, the HUSBAND OF ONE WIFE, VIGILANT, SOBER, of GOOD BEHAVIOR, GIVEN TO HOSPITALITY, APT TO TEACH, NOT GIVEN TO WINE, NO STRIKER, NOT GREEDY OF FILTHY LUCRE, but PATIENT, NOT A BRAWLER, NOT COVETOUS, ONE THAT RULETH WELL HIS OWN HOUSE, HAVING HIS CHILDREN IN SUBJECTION WITH ALL GRAVITY (1Tim.3:1-5)
The Scripture mentions the following as proofs of the good and godly husbandman.
The first is that the husbandman must be blameless. This means that the husbandman must be a person of integrity in character and conduct. The good and godly husbandman must be a person of good and godly influence at home and in the market place (Matt.5:14-16).
The second is that the husbandman must be a man who is married to only one wife, no mistress, no concubines. This is because from the beginning when God made the first family, He made them male and female (Gen.2:18-25).
The other proofs are that the husbandman must be vigilant both physically and spiritually, quiet in his heart to receive corrections and be humble to learn. The husbandman is expected to be the family’s first teacher, teaching and leading the way unto godliness and righteousness.
Do you have these evidences in your life? Do you these testimonies as the husbandman?
If you have failed or you are struggling to bear good and godly fruits as the husbandman, please don’t give up on God and His word. God’s help is available for you. His grace is sufficient for you. You must be determined and be committed to the demands that makes good and godly fruits possible.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me by Your Spirit to function in my office as the good and godly husbandman.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, anoint me with fresh oil to be a positive influence at home and in the market place.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with divine wisdom so that I can become a worthy vessel.
FAITH CONFESSION
God has chosen me to occupy the office of the husbandman and I make a fresh commitment to do the works of the husbandman so that I bear fruits that make me the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
