LET THE MIND OF JESUS CHRIST BE IN YOU

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Philp.2:5, Jn.14:26, Mk.9:29, Gal.4:19, Rev.12:11, Lk.6:45, Pro.4:23, Lk.18:1, Matt.26:41-42, 2Cor.5:17, Jn.3:4-8, 1Cor.15:33

Praise God! Glory be to Jesus Christ our Saviour, who has brought us to the last day of October 2024. For all He has done for us, with us, in us and through us, we return all the glory to Him, alone.

As we round off the month, there is one thing that is needful for you in order for you to continue to live the life of the good and godly husbandman, after the image and likeness of Jesus Christ. And that important thing is for you to have the mind of Christ.

Let this mind be in you, even the mind of Christ (Philp.2:5)

The word of God says that let this mind be in you even the mind of Christ. What does this mean? It means that you must think like Jesus Christ would think because your mind is the chamber where you make decisions whether good or bad (Pro.4:23, Lk.6:45). So, when you have the mind of Jesus Christ, it determines your every decision. The mind of Christ helps you to ask this question before act, “What will Jesus Christ do in this matter and in this circumstance”. This is the way you can develop your thought life to think like Christ would.

But what do I do to have the mind of Christ and think like Christ would?

For you to think like Christ would, you must have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (Jn.3:4-8, 2Cor.5:17). The second action you must take is to be careful with the type of books you read, the songs you listen to, the films you watch and the relationships you keep. All of these are influences and they can either influence you to think like Christ or think like the world (1Cor.15:33). You must also engage the forces of prayer and fasting so that you can empowered by the Person of the Holy Ghost to accept only good and righteous thoughts and refuse evil thoughts from getting into your mind (Ps.51:10, Mk.9:29, Mk.14:38, Jn.14:26, Gal.4:19)

As the husbandman, you cannot and will not grow to become the good and godly man, husband and father if you do not read the word of God, think on the word of God and pray the word of God into your life. Hence, you must give attention to study the Bible, meditate on it and act on what it commands. That is how your mind can be like that of Jesus Christ.

Hallelujah!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for allowing ungodly relationships into my life and thinking like the world.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from ungodly relationships, influences and resources.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to always feed my mind with Your words of wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

FAITH CONFESSION

I guard my mind with all diligence and protect it from the influences of satan, sin and the world and allow only the word of God to influence my thought and actions because I am on a journey to becoming the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
