JESUS CHRIST HAS GIVEN YOU POWER OVER SIN

Yesterday, by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, you and I as husbandmen understood the importance of redeeming the time because the days are evil. We also understood that in redeeming the time, you and I must seek to know Jesus Christ through study of the word of God and commitment to obeying all His commandments for us as men, husbands and fathers. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that you and I shall make use of the time in seeking and doing the perfect will of God for our lives. Amen.

One major area you must overcome in redeeming the time is sin and its attractions. The works of sin is dominating but Jesus Christ has already given you dominion them.

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but yield yourself unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for ye are not under the law but under grace (Rom.6:12-14)

The Bible says that you have dominion over sin. This means that God has empowered you to have control over the desires of your flesh, the pride of life and the lust of the eyes. You have dominion over the works of sin such as adultery, addiction to pornography, fornication, stealing, murder, lying, deceitfulness, unfaithfulness and all other sinful natures.

We are more than conquerors (Rom.8:37)

You are not just a conqueror; you are more than a victor. Do not remain in that sinful life that you are involved in. Do not conclude on your life that there is nothing you can do to come out of that sinful life. You must therefore make yourself available to God and live a righteous life.

However, there are steps you must take to live a life of dominion over sin. Firstly, you must give your life and rededicate it to Jesus Christ by confessing all your sins to Him and inviting Him to come into your life to be your Lord and personal Saviour (Jn.3:3-8, Acts 10:36, 2Cor.5:17). Secondly, you must deliberately feed on the word of God-the Bible-as a lifestyle (Ps.1:1-4, Jn.8:32). The more of God’s word you have in you, the more knowledge you have to distinguish the lies of satan and the world from the truth from God. Thirdly, you must continue to pray in your understanding and in the language of the Holy Ghost and continue to declare your righteous stand in Jesus Christ because Christ has made you His righteousness (Lk.18:1, Rom.10:10).

Jesus Christ is Lord over your life. Sin cannot have dominion over you. Take your stand in righteousness! It is the pathway to a glorious destiny as the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and errors and please come into my life and be my Lord and Saviour.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to have dominion over the works of satan, sin and the world.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be conscious of my righteous stand in You and make me live it.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am the righteousness of God in Christ and that empowers me to have dominion over the works of satan, sin and the world thereby making me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
