THE FATHER’S LOVE TOWARD ME

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you an expected end (Jer.29:11)

God is your Father. He loves you and wants you to be fruitful as the man, husband and father. Just like the prodigal son who returned to his father after he messed up and wasted his resources, and was warmly accepted by his father, your Father wants you back. It is the Father’s love toward you. Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us, that we should be called the sons of God.

Why is the Father’s love toward me?

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it do not cease to pray for you and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Strengthen with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long suffering with joyfulness (Col.1:9-11)

Your heavenly Father wants you to increase in the knowledge of Him. He wants you to be filled with wisdom and spiritual understanding. He wants you to walk worthily of your ministry, as the husbandman, pleasing Him in all things. God is always thinking about how you can become all that He has created you to be. As the husbandman, your Father’s thought for you is to be productive as the good and godly man, husband and father.

But how do I live and enjoy the Father’s love?

The first is that you must have and maintain relationship and fellowship with God through Jesus Christ (Jn.3:3, 2Cor.5:17, 2Cor.7:1, Rom.12:1-2, Rom.6:1, Rom.6:13). As the husbandman, you must delight in the Lord and do only those things that He commands you to do as the man, husband and father (Deut.28:1-2).

The second is that you must give attention to the study and meditation of the word of God (Philp.3:10, 2Tim.2:15). The more you study the word of God and think about what He says of your role as the good and godly husbandman, the more you are empowered by the Spirit of God to please Him (Philp.2:13).

The third step is for you to engage the weapon of prayer for empowerment to do what God wants you to do (Mk.9:29.Very often, your spirit is willing to do what is right from the word of God but the flesh is weak because of satan, sin and the world. But when you pray fervently, you develop spiritual capacity to overcome the power of the flesh and do only those things that please God.

As the husbandman, you have a great destiny with God. Let the Father’s love toward you inspire and motivate you to live the life of the good and godly husbandman, bringing glory to Jesus Christ.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You for Your love toward me.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk in the light of Your love in all that I think and do.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to become the good and godly husbandman by the power of Your love toward me.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am surrounded by the love of my heavenly Father toward me and by His love I am empowered to live the life that pleases Him because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
