Yesterday, by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, we understand that the weapon of our warfare that guarantees victory is the word of God. And if we give attention to the word of God, study it, believe what it says and we act on the instructions and commandments, we will become the good and godly men, husbands and fathers.
Today, let us learn how the word of God exposes the trick and trap of satan, sin and the world in making the husbandman to be out of the perfect will of God. What is the trick? It is trick of making the husbandman believe the tradition and culture of the world over and above the principles of Scriptures. And this has become the lot of so many husbandmen resulting in them not living out the very life of Christ as the good and godly man, husband and father.
Now read this and stay on it for while, meditating on it.
Now I pray to God that ye do no evil not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates. For we can do nothing against the truth but for the truth (2Cor.13:7-8)
The word of God says you can’t do anything against the truth of God’s word. This means the word of God is eternal and unchanging and will forever be the living truth. Therefore, as the husbandman, you must honour the word of God over and above the earthly systems and cultures in your conduct, utterances, relationships, and in all aspects of your life.
When you give the word of God first place in your life and in all that you do, you will be like Jesus Christ in likeness and image (Rom.12:1-3, Eph.5:25-29)
You will also enjoy divine direction and guidance by the Spirit of God through His word (Ps.119:105).
You will also see farther and better in the good plans of God for your life (Jn.1:5). You will be strengthened by the vision of a great destiny that God has for you.
As the husbandman you must honour the word of God above all other things in your life if you must succeed in your God-given assignment as the man, husband and father. Over the past 57 days, I have been on a journey studying the Book of Psalms. And I am gaining new understanding of God, my Father.
As we round off this series, make this commitment today to make the word of God your greatest heritage as the good and godly husbandman and give it first place in your life and in all that you do.
Make your life count by the word of God because God’s word is true.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me take You and Your word wholeheartedly.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every spirit of fear and unbelief.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, let Your word gain take root in my heart and let it bear fruits in my life.
FAITH CONFESSION
I stand firmly on the word of God; I believe and act on all it commands because it is my sure foundation to becoming the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
