FORCE OF CHANGE: DAY 22

Spread the love

RENEWING YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE

Bible Texts: Heb.12:12-13, Rom.12:1-2, Is.40:31, Gen.17:1, Rom.12:2, Eph.5:26, Jn.6:63, Hag.1:7, Pro.4:18, Jn.10:10, Gal.4:19, Rev.12:10-11, Ezk.2:2

As you pursue God’s perfect will for you as the good and godly husbandman, you need to recognize the importance of renewing your spiritual man through personal word study, constant fellowship with God through Jesus Christ, prayers, and fellowship with other brethren. If you do not renew your mind, you will not have the strength to overcome challenges, pressures, and distractions of life.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Rom.12:1-2)

Many husbandmen make daily decisions to renew their physical bodies but fail to renew their spirit man. They change their clothes but not their attitude. They replace their worn out shoes but not their ungodly behaviour. The perfect will of God for the husbandman is to renew his spirit man, if he must lead and become the true reflection of what God wants him to be as good and godly husbandman. This also demands that the husbandman must make a decision to walk before God and be like Him in all things through Jesus Christ.

For you to renew your spirit man, which is the man on the inside, you must give yourself to these covenant demands.

Firstly, you must feed your mind on a daily basis with the word of God by studying, meditating and acting on it (Pro.4:20-22, Ps.1:1, Jn.5:39, Eph.5:26)

Secondly, you must engage the power of prayer to enjoy the fruits of the spirit behind the word of God (Ezk.2:2, Jn.6:63).

As the husbandman, you must understand that the quality of your spirit man has direct impact on the quality of your soul and body. If your spirit man is healthy by the life and spirit of the word of God, then your mental, emotional and physical life will be healthy too. Therefore, you must make a daily commitment to give yourself to the demands of building your spiritual life, the man on the inside, so that you can be healthy and stronger in the outer man.
