HUNGER AND THIRST AFTER RIGHTEOUSNESS (2)
Bible Texts: Matt.5:6, 2Tim.2:19-21, Is.51:1-2, Gal.3:13, 2Cor.9:8, 2Cor.5:17, Gal.4:19, Pro.14:13, Ps.34:15, Ps.1:1-3, Ps.51:9-11, Gen.18:19
Praise be unto Jesus Christ our Saviour for His marvelous help in the ongoing fasting and prayers. Today is the 40th day and the end of the 4th 10th days of the 70 days of fasting and prayers. For grace, strength and answered prayers, we return all the glory to God. May the grace to stay strong for the remaining 30 days be given to each and everyone in Jesus name. Amen.
Yesterday, we began the series by laying the foundation for every husbandman to hunger and thirst after righteousness. We understood from Scripture that the righteousness of the husbandman is in God through Jesus Christ and it is God’s perfect will for him. Furthermore, the walk and works of righteousness is a journey. This is very important so that when you fall into error, you will not remain in that fallen state of sin and unrighteousness rather you will return to Jesus Christ just like the prodigal son (Lk.15:1-20)
But how do I thirst after what is right?
Ye must be born again (Jn.3:7)
You must have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ by confessing your sins, repenting of them and accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour.
If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new (2Cor.5:17)
You must also work to maintain your relationship with Jesus Christ by a change in the way you think, talk, and conduct yourself (Matt.5:14-16). As you tell God those areas of your life that you are struggling with and you allow the word of God to fill your heart, then your old life of sin will fade away and a new man will be born in you (Matt.11:28-30, Rom.12:2).
Doing what the Scriptures command and instruct you to do as the man, husband and father is not only your pathway to a world of peace, joy and eternal life, it also guarantees your physical and mental well-being. Therefore, thirst and hunger after righteousness and let works of righteousness be evident in you, with you and through you!
Hallelujah!
