BRINGING YOUR MIND UNDER SUBJECTION OF THE WORD (2)

Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ, as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance, but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct , because it is written, be holy, for I am holy (1Pet.1:13-16)
Yesterday, we began this teaching by establishing that having control over the spirit of your mind is the foundation upon which the husbandman can build himself unto a man, husband and father of goodness and godliness. We also learnt that guarding our hearts and minds from the influences of satan, sin and the world is an important responsibility for the husbandman if he wants to live the life of the good and godly man, husband and father.
What other action steps must I take to guard the loins of my mind?
You must order your conduct in righteousness by allowing the word of God to be the determinant in the decisions you take. This is what birth holiness and keeps the spirit of your mind healthy and fruitful.
But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct (1Pet.1:15)
As the husbandman, you must do what is right according to the word of God and not what you like. You don’t choose what you think is right but you do exactly what God says, commands and instructs, regardless of whether it is convenient or not (Deut.28:1, Dan.1:8, Ps.42:1).
Secondly, you must allow the love of Christ to reign supreme in your heart so that it can influence how you conduct yourself in a manner that pleases God (Rom.5:5). Thirdly, you must pray for the continuous release of the spirit of holiness upon your life to enable you think and do what is right because holiness is a spiritual virtue and is available to anyone who asks for it in prayers, and that is what the prayer and fasting platforms offer (Rom.1:4, Matt.7:7).
You must recognize that the battle field of life is in the mind. If the spirit of your mind is healthy by the word of God and you walk with the Person of the Holy Spirit to guard your mind, you will live a fruitful life as the good and godly husbandman, bringing glory to Jesus Christ.

FAITH CONFESSION
I live my life focusing on the word of God as my final authority and I submit myself to the influences of God’s instructions, commandments and principles because that is the foundation I need build myself to become the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
