For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you an expected end (Jer.29:11)
Yesterday, we understood from Scriptures the need for the husbandman to appreciate the importance of knowing God as his Father. This is because father means source, and God as your Father is the source from whom comes all things you need to grow and become the good and godly man, husband and father.
But how do I live and enjoy the Father’s love?
The first is that you must have and maintain relationship and fellowship with God through Jesus Christ (Jn.3:3, 2Cor.5:17, 2Cor.7:1, Rom.12:1-2, Rom.6:1, Rom.6:13). As the husbandman, you must delight in the Lord and do only those things that He commands you to do as the man, husband and father (Deut.28:1-2).
The second is that you must give attention to the study and meditation of the word of God (Philp.3:10, 2Tim.2:15). The more you study the word of God and think about what He says of your role as the good and godly husbandman, the more you are empowered by the Spirit of God to please Him (Ezk.2:2, Philp.2:13).
The third step is for you to engage the weapon of prayer for empowerment to do what God wants you to do (Zech.4:6, Mk.9:29.Very often, your spirit is willing to do what is right from the word of God but the flesh is weak because of satan, sin and the world. But when you pray fervently, you develop spiritual capacity to overcome the power of the flesh and do only those things that please God (Gal.5:22-23).
As the husbandman, you have a great destiny with God. Let the Father’s love toward you inspire and motivate you to live the life of the good and godly husbandman, bringing glory to Jesus Christ.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You for Your love toward me.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk in the light of Your love in all that I think and do.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to become the good and godly husbandman by the power of Your love toward me.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am surrounded by the love of my heavenly Father and by His love I am empowered to live the life that pleases Him because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
