Bible Texts: Philp.3:10, 1Tim.2:3-4, Jn.8:32, Ps.35:27, Jn.16:22, 2Tim.2:15, Jn.10:10, 3Jn.1:2, Jn.14:26, Lk.18:1, Ps.1:1-3
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth (1Tim.2:3-4)
As the good and godly husbandman, you must be aware that the most valuable asset you have that the devil, your adversary, wants to steal from you is the knowledge of Jesus Christ at work in your life. This is because the more of Christ and His word you have at work in you, the more powerful you will be in your spirit, soul, body and other areas of life (3Jn.1:2). This is why you must guard the knowledge of Jesus Christ in you from being stolen by satan, sin and the world.
But how does the knowledge of the truth of God’s word help me to become the good and godly man, husband and father?
And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (Jn.8:32)
Firstly, the knowledge of the truth in your life empowers you to know the perfect will of God for your life as the man, husband and father. Secondly, the power of the knowledge of the truth in you keeps you far away from every form of ungodliness. Thirdly, the knowledge of the truth sets you free from every trap of the devil that is aimed at making you unfit as the godly man, husband and father.
So, how does the devil fight to ensure that I don’t get filled up with the knowledge of the truth of the life of Jesus Christ?
The first thing he uses against you is to take away from you the desire to study the Bible. He knows that the more you are empty of the word of God at work in your spirit man, the less powerful you are to fulfill the perfect of God for your life as the good and godly man, husband and father.
So, to counter his tricks, you must engage in continuous study of and meditation in the word of God.
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly diving the word of truth (2Tim.2:15)
The second trick he uses against you is to take you away from fellowshipping with other brethren in worship, praise and prayers. When you fellowship with other brethren in your local church in prayer, word study, praise and worship, you strengthen yourself. Therefore, do not neglect the assembly of the brethren.
Learning at the feet of Jesus Christ is the foundation for your success in your spirit, soul and body. Searching the word of God daily, meditating on the word and praying the word into your life is the responsibility you must take to remain on course your journey to becoming the good and godly husbandman.
Hallelujah!
