Yesterday, we learnt that the husbandman is made by God in the image and likeness of Christ and as a result he has the mind of Christ which enables him to live a sacrificial life for his wife and children (Gen.1:26-28, Jn.3:1, Jn.10:1-3, Eph.5:25).
Now that I am a Christ in my home, when should I start living like Jesus Christ? Today!
Teach us to number my days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom…..(Ps.90:12)
The Scripture in Psalms 90 and verse 12 admonishes you and I to seek the help of God to enable us number our days and make the most of it to the glory and praise of Jesus Christ. This is because each day of your life matters to God. If today matters to me and it is important for me to make it count for God and for those I am leading, what must I do?
And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lust (Roms.13:11-14)
The word of God in Romans chapter 13 and verses 11 to 14 gives the answers to what you must do to make the most of each day.
If you must make each day of your life count for Jesus Christ, you must awake out of your sleep, excuses and state of defeat.
It is high time to awake out of sleep (Rom.13:11a)
You must take a decisive commitment to depart from your old life of unrighteousness and irresponsibility and start taking responsibility to obey all that God commands from His word for you as the man, husband and father. You must lay aside your undisciplined lifestyles. You must cast away the works of darkness which are drunkenness, lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, pride of life, strife, envy and all forms of ungodliness.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for my past failures, mistakes and errors.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, guide me through Your word as I study and give me a new beginning.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to make quality decisions that will please You every moment of my life.
FAITH CONFESSION
Today is a new day for me and I am taking practical steps to obey all that God commands me to do as the man, husband and father because that is the pathway to becoming the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
