Godliness is the husbandman’s greatest heritage because it is the perfect will of God for him. Righteousness also makes him useful to God, his wife, children and the world. Godliness is what invites the power, person and presence of God into the life of the husbandman. Hence, as the husbandman you must pursue after righteousness and hate evil and wickedness.
But why should I live a righteous life as the husbandman?
Righteousness gives you access to the wisdom of God that will help you lead your life successfully as the good and godly man, husband and father. The wisdom of God is what you require everyday to do the perfect will of God and to overcome the challenges of leadership.
Pursuing after righteousness is a proof that you are made in the image and likeness of God through Jesus Christ. You are an ambassador of Christ hence you must represent Him according to His instructions and principles in your thoughts, words and actions.
But what do I need to do to start pursuing after righteousness as the husbandman?
You must have your root in Jesus Christ by inviting Him into your life and accepting Him as your Lord and personal saviour. A relationship with Jesus Christ is what sets you on the path of righteousness (Jn.3:3-7, 2Cor.5:17, Ps.24:1-2, Rom.6:1).
You must engage the power of God through prayers and fasting and word study (Mk.9:29, Jn.8:32, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13, 2Tim.2:15). You cannot do the right things as commanded by God in His word by your strength because the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. It is the powerful Spirit of God that empowers you to obey all of God’s instructions. And this is accessible on the altar of fasting and prayers and the revelation of His word.
Therefore, I encourage you to make a firm decision today to live righteously at home, at your place of work, in your position, and in all your relationships.
Righteousness exalts.

•Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every besetting sin and plant my life in You.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to refuse sin and help me to embrace righteousness.
•Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower and fill me with the Spirit of holiness.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, living out His perfect will in all areas of life because that is what makes me the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
