LOOKING UNTO JESUS CHRIST, LEARNING FROM HIM (1)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Jn.15:1-5, 1Pet.5:6, Jn.14:26, Jas.4:10, Matt.5:14-16, Rom.12:1-3, Heb.12:2, Rom.12:21, Rom.5:5, Eph.2:6, Jas.4:6

There are many examples you and I may look to as we journey the path of becoming the good and godly husbandman. But like the apprentice who wants to learn a trade and become good at it, who is the perfect person does the husbandman learn from and where is the place? These are important questions you and I must ask ourselves and find answers to because of the many teachings drawn from the philosophies of men rather the truth from the word of God.

Now, let us find out who you and I must look to for our learning towards becoming the good and godly husbandman.

Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and sin which doth so easily beset us and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith……(Heb.12:1-2)

The word of God says, “looking unto Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith”. Jesus Christ is the perfect Person from whom you can learn all that you need to know about how to function as the good and godly man, husband and father. Jesus Christ represents how the godly man should behave and conduct his affair that is, having deeper fellowship with the Father; how the godly husband should behave that is, loving his wife inspite of her failings; how the godly father should live that is, providing for and sustaining the home.

Jesus Christ is the foundation you are to build your life as the good and godly man, husband and father. Other human examples can falter and they have their shortcomings, weaknesses and failings but Jesus Christ does not have any of that. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. He alone is the Person you must follow and His word is His Person in written form (Jn.5:39, Acts 1:1, 2Cor.5:17, 2Tim.2:15).

Your pastor, bishop, reverend are good but they are not the perfect example to look to in your journey to becoming the good and godly husbandman. Jesus Christ is and the only perfect example.

But why must I learn at the feet of Jesus Christ and from His word?

We shall continue tomorrow, even as I pray that you will make up your mind today to look unto Jesus Christ and learn at His feet.
