You are a witness of Jesus Christ! You are an ambassador of Christ! You are the light in your home, and in the marketplace! That is the word for the husbandman reading today’s devotional.
In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with God and the WORD was God. The same was in the beginning with God. In Him was life and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light but was sent to bear witness of that Light (Jn.1:1-8)
Reading from verse 8 of John chapter 1, there are two important truths to note. The first is that God sent a man, whose name was John. The second is that God sent John to bear witness of the Light, Jesus Christ so that men will believe Him. And when you read down the Bible passage, you discover that John fulfilled that assignment of a witness to the end that all people believed in the Lord Jesus Christ.
This is the lesson for you and I. God made you and I husbandmen, that is a man, husband and father (Gen.1:26-28, Gen.2:18, Gen.4:1). And in order to make us flourish, God sent us into the lives of our wife and children and in the marketplace so that we can be witnesses and ambassadors of Jesus Christ in thoughts, action and conduct (Matt.5:14-16).
As Christ ambassador, you are to be merciful, loving, compassionate, forgiving, caring, respectful, faithful, righteous, holy, gracious, understanding, prayerful, a helper, a provider, leading with courage, hope and faith. That is your mandate. That is the character God wants you to model your life after so that your wife and children can see through your life the perfect example of Jesus Christ, the good and perfect example of the husbandman.
Therefore, you must make our headship and representation worthy of Christ’s nature at home and in your relationship with your wife and children and in the market place. It is the only way you can prove that you are the good and godly man, husband and father.
There are things you must do and continue to do to be the ambassador of Christ. You must have and remain in love with God through Jesus Christ. You must give yourself to the study and meditation of the word of God. You must desire and expect to be an ambassador. Finally, you must be conscious of who you are in Christ as the man, husband, and father, and act accordingly.

- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to represent Jesus Christ in my home in truth.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the life of Jesus Christ shine through me in all that I think and do.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto You.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am made by God and sent by Him as a witness of Jesus Christ to my wife, children and in the marketplace, and I receive grace to represent Jesus Christ in truth in my home and in the market place because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman, in Jesus name. Amen.
