Praise be unto Jesus Christ for His light that showed us that the husbandman is a three-in-one personality. He is the man, husband, and father. Now that you know who you are, you must also know that there is a spirit in you. It is the spirit God has given to you. But what is the spirit that God has given to you?
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind (2Tim.1:7)
The Scriptures in 2nd Timothy chapter 1 and verse 7 tells us the spirit that God has given and the ones He has not given. The word of God says that God has given you the spirit of power, the spirit of love and the spirit of a sound mind. God has not given you the spirit of fear. So the power to love your wife as Christ has loved the church, the power to operate in divine wisdom that helps you provide good and godly leadership is in you. The power to think wisely, act with discretion, speak words of grace and edification and conduct yourself in the way that pleases God is in you.
But how do I put the spirit God has given to me to work?
And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me (Ezk.2:2)
By the word of God! The word of God contains the Spirit of God. As you give attention to the study of the Bible and meditate on it day and night, and believe what it says, you are feeding the spirit man in you and you will find the spirit of God showing forth in love, power and a sound mind in your outward conduct (Pro.4:20-23, Jn.5:39, Ezk.2:2).
By the weapon of prayer and fasting! The prayer of faith in God and His word, combined with fasting, empowers the spirit of God in you to walk in faith and not in fear, and empowers you to triumph over all other ungodly spirits (Heb.11:2, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13, Mk.9:23). Praying in the Holy Ghost refreshes the spirit of love, power and a sound mind God has given to you.
Therefore, replace the spirit of fear with the spirit of faith; replace the spirit of weakness with the spirit of power; replace the spirit of hatred and bitterness with the spirit of love; and replace the spirit of a dull mind with the spirit of a sound mind.
Hallelujah!
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the name of Jesus, deliver me from the spirit of fear.
- Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me with the spirit of love, power and a sound mind.
- Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to walk in the reality of Your love, power and soundness of mind.
FAITH CONFESSION
I overcome the spirit of fear, hate and dullness by the word of God and now I have the spirit of love, power and a sound mind in pursuit of my calling as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
