BE YE PERFECT (2)

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind (Eph.4:23)

As we continue our teaching on becoming the perfect husbandman that God wants you to become, you must take personal responsibility to continue to feed your spirit man with the word of God so that your mind can be renewed to conform to the perfect will of God for your life.

And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Rom.12:2)

You cannot be better on the outside until you are renewed on the inside. This means that every good and godly change you want to see happen in your life as the man, husband, and father must first start from the renewing of your mind and thought life (Rom. 12:1-2). Once your mind is renewed daily, it brings your life, conduct, actions, and responses to conform with the word of God. Everything about your life proceeds from your heart, hence, you must ensure God’s word fills your heart abundantly so that it makes you live the life of the good and godly husbandman to God, and your wife and children.

For you to renew the spirit of your mind with the word of God, you must study the word of God and think on what God has said from His word on a daily basis (Philp.4:8, Rom.5:5, Ps.1:1). You must also pray every truth of Scriptures your have meditated on into your life so that the word of God can find expression in your outward conduct (Mk.9:29, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13). You must continue to engage the Person of the Holy Spirit to seal the seed of God’s word in your heart (Mk.9:23, Acts 2:1-4, Jn.14:26). The word of God is likened to a seed, and the Person of the Holy Spirit empowers the seed to be firmly rooted in your heart and bear fruits in your life (Gal.5:20-23).

The birth place of the good and godly change you want to see in your life as the husbandman is your spirit man, and the word of God is the right food your spirit man needs to influence your outward conduct and actions that make you the good and godly man, husband and father. Therefore, guard your mind with all diligence and feed it abundantly with the word of God so that you can become the perfect husbandman (Gen.17:1-2).

Praise be unto Jesus Christ!
