Bible Texts: Mk.13:36-37, Am.6:1, 2Cor.5:17, Jn.3:3-4, Pro.4:23, Ezk.2:2, Pro.23:7, Matt.6:22, Hab.2:1, 1Pet.5:8
I have come to discover that it is very easy for the husbandman to fall into error. I have also discovered that the ministry of the husbandman demands consistent watchfulness for him to escape the traps of satan, sin and the world.
Watch ye therefore, for ye know not when the master of the house cometh at even or at midnight or at the cockcrowing or in the morning. Lest coming suddenly he find sleeping. And what I say unto you I say to unto all, watch (Mk.13:35-37)
Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, admonishes you and I to awake and be watchful so that we can keep guard over our lives and the lives of our wife and children.
But how do I maintain watchfulness?
You maintain watchfulness by guarding your heart with all diligence.
Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life (Pro.4:23)
As the good and godly husbandman, you must watch the information that you receive either from the books you read, the films you watch and the messages you listen to. This is because the information you receive into your spirit man determines and influences the quality of the action you take. As a man thinks in his heart so is he (Pro.23:7). You are only as good as you think and you cannot act better than what you think.
You must continue to engage the Person of the Holy Spirit by the weapon of prayer and fasting.
I will send the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, who will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things you need to know (Jn.14:26)
The Person of the Holy Spirit has two important ministries to you. He teaches and guides you. When you ask for His help and truthfully so in prayers, He will teach you what you need to know; He will reveal to you what is hidden; He helps you to discern what is right from what is wrong; and He guides you in the way that you should go, think and act.
However, you must recognize that the foundation to maintaining watchfulness is to have and maintain a quality relationship with God through Jesus Christ by being born again and accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Personal Saviour (Jn.3:3-7, 2Cor.5:17). You must also give and continue to give attention to the study, meditation and act on God’s word. You must love and continue to walk in love towards Jesus Christ by doing only those things that please Him.
Therefore, arise, awake. Stand on the watchtower. Watch and pray!
Hallelujah!

FAITH CONFESSION
I stand upon my watch and I maintain continued watchfulness over what I read, hear and listen to so that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart will be acceptable in the sight of God and profitable to my wife and children because that is what gives me value as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
