One of the greatest weapons of warfare that God has given to the husbandman to overcome the challenges of life as he walks through the journey to becoming the good and godly man, husband, and father is prayer. The prayer weapon is powerful; hence, every husbandman must engage it continually if he is to be in command.
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Eph.6:18)
Praying as a lifestyle is the husbandman’s greatest spiritual attitude he must develop and possess if he wants to continue to remain relevant and useful in his journey as the good and godly man, husband, and father. Prayer is like the air he breathes. It is the oxygen that gives life to the ministry of the husbandman.
Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, admonishes you and I to pray always.
Men ought always to pray and not faint (Lk.18:1)
As the husbandman, you must keep the fire on your prayer altar aflame. You must keep your communication with your heavenly Father open. This is the only way you can connect to God and His power, which empowers you to overcome the challenges and obstacles set on your journey to becoming the good and godly shepherd.
Jesus says,
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the powers of the enemy (Lk.10:19)
The authority and power you need to be in command of the affairs of your life as the man, husband, and father can only be activated by the weapon of prayer and fasting. Beyond asking God for material, financial, career, and business breakthroughs, you also must ask Him to empower you for a triumphant living and dominion over the invincible world and manipulation of satan, sin, and the world.
But how do I pray effectively as I run this race of becoming the good and godly husbandman?
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour upon me the spirit of grace and supplication.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, stir up a prayer revival in my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to pray aright and give me victory over the works of satan, sin and the world.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am praying always and without ceasing, using the word of God as my foundation that is the empowerment I need to lead as the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
