BE CONSISTENT IN GODLY CHARACTER (1)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Job 31:1-7, Matt.6:22, Jas.1:7, Jer.11:12, Rom.12: 21, Gen.14:22-23, Pro.1:10, Is.3:10, Philp.4:8, 1Tim.6:11

Welcome to July 2025! It is the first month in the second half of the year and the seventh month of the year. We give God, through Jesus Christ, all the glory and praise for all His wondrous works in our lives, families and Mission.

The word of the Lord came to me this early morning saying, “July is the month of completion and settlement”. Every good work that God has started in your life, family and endeavours shall be completed this month. And every aspect of your life that you desire settlement, the hand of the Lord shall divinely settle you. Praise God!

In today’s teaching, we shall be considering two important virtues the husbandman must have in order to grow and be established as the good and godly man, husband and father. And the husbandman we will be studying from the Bible is Job.

I will wait on God until my change comes (Job 14:14)

This is the testimony of Job and that must be your desire as you walk the path to becoming the good and godly man, husband and father, and in all your pursuits. God wants you to wait on Him through Jesus Christ because He is a covenant keeping God and a promise keeper.

When you read the Book of Job, you will see the husbandman who defied the odds, stood for righteousness, and maintained his character. At the height of his challenges when he was advised to curse God and die, he refused. He chose to stand firm in his faith in God and what God had promised. He not only had good and godly character, but he was also consistent. That is what God expects from every husbandman, beginning with you.

God does not desire that the husbandman should be unstable in his character. God does not want the husbandman to be inconsistent in doing what is righteous. God does not want the husbandman to compromise because of what he stands to gain.

Think about this Scripture for a moment.

For the doubter, being double-minded and unstable in every way, must not expect to receive anything from the Lord (Jas.1:6-7) New Heart English Bible

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the spirit of disobedience, fear, doubt,

rebellion and pride.

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to develop good and godly character.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be steadfast in doing Your perfect will at all times and in all circumstances.

FAITH CONFESSION

I overcome the desires of my flesh by the precious blood of Jesus Christ and I consistently embrace the word of God as the final authority for all I think and do because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
