MESSAGE FROM THE MARRIAGE AT CANA

Bible Texts: Jn.2:1-11, Gen.21:1-2, Deut.28:1, Jn.14:16, Is.1:19, Jn.15:5, Jn.16:33, Job.34:29, 3Jn.1:2, Ecc.9:11, 2Cor.5:17, Philp.2:13, Gal.4:19

And the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee and the mother of Jesus was there. And both Jesus was called and his disciples to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, they have no wine….His mother saith unto the servants, whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. …..Jesus saith unto them, fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them draw out now and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler had tasted the water that was made wine……the governor called the bridegroom. And saith unto him, every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine and when men have well drunk then that which is worse but thou hast kept the good wine until now (Jn.2:1-11)

The above Scripture tells us the story of the marriage at Cana. Jesus Christ attended a wedding ceremony at Cana of Galilee. While at the wedding, the wine got finished. The servants came to Jesus’s mother to inform her that there was no wine so that she could tell her Son, Jesus Christ, to perform a miracle. She directed them to Jesus and told them to do whatever He told them to do. And when they met with Jesus, He gave them certain instructions. They obeyed the instructions, and the result was that there was abundant wine and the bridegroom was saved from embarrassment.

What is the message from the marriage at Cana to me?

God wants you to invite Jesus Christ into your life, home, and in your roles as the good and godly husbandman because He wants you to succeed in your responsibilities as the man, husband, and father. When you invite Jesus Christ into your life, He teaches, instructs, and guides you in the way you should go, how and when you should go about it.

But why do I need to invite Jesus Christ as I lead my family as the husbandman?

Without me you can do nothing (Jn.15:5)

Without the help of God through His Son, Jesus Christ, you will not be able to balance your life and be a success as the good and godly man, husband, and father. But with His help, you can combine your responsibilities as the man, husband, and father and become the good and godly husbandman.

You must understand that when you invite Jesus Christ into your life, you must be willing to obey all His instructions as revealed in the Bible, particularly as they pertain to you as a man, husband, and father. It is your obedience to the word of God that empowers you to be able to execute your covenant mandate and calling as the good and godly husbandman.

Wouldn’t you want to invite Jesus Christ into your life today just as He was invited to the wedding at Cana of Galilee? Wouldn’t you want to invite Jesus Christ into your life to lead you and help you?

Please, invite Him and you will not regret His influence in your life as the husbandman.
