WALKING IN THE LOVE OF CHRIST (3)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Bible Texts: Matt.5:23-24, Rom.12:18, Heb.12:11, Jas.3:17, Col.1:19-20, 2Cor.5:19, Pro.21:1-3, Jn.14:26, 1Pet.3:7, Ecc.4:12, Matt.18:19, Rom.14:17

Therefore, if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee, leave there thy gift before the altar and go thy way, first be reconciled to thy brother and them come an offer thy gift (Matt.5:23-24)

Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, speaks of the power of reconciliation over bitterness. He admonishes you and I to prove our love for Him by setting aside our manly ego and seek peace and reconciliation with our sheep.

As the good and godly husbandman, it is the perfect will of God for you to make peace with your wife and children. God doesn’t just want you to live in peace with them; He also wants you to make peace with them. There are indeed times when they may offend you. It could also be true that you are not the person at fault. But Jesus, the perfect portrait of the good and godly husbandman, exhorts you to reconcile with them.

But how do I make the peace move a success?

You learn to pray ahead so that God, through the Person of the Holy Spirit, will give them the heart to receive your peace.

I travailed in prayers that Christ be formed in you (Gal.4:19)

Prayer is a spiritual seed which has the power to change anything and anyone (Pro.21:1-3).

You must also seek divine wisdom (Jas.1:5)

The wisdom from above is good, godly and pure. It gives you direction and strength to know what to say, when to say, what to do, how to say it and how to go about your work of reconciliation and peace.

And as you seek peace and reconciliation with your wife and children, you will enjoy these blessings.

The first is that your prayers will not be hindered (1Pet.3:7). The second is that you enjoy spiritual, mental, emotional and physical wellness (Matt.18:19, 3Jn.1:2). The third is that you become the example of the good and godly husbandman that others will want to emulate (Matt.5:14-16, Acts 1:1). And finally, it assures you of eternal life because no one who lives in bitterness and unforgiveness shall make heaven (1Jn.5:17)

The hallmark of the good and godly husbandman is to seek peace and pursue it. It is the nature of Jesus Christ and you have His life in you. Therefore, seek peace and pursue it.

Hallelujah!
