GROWING IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH (2)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Philp.3:10, 1Tim.2:3-4, Jn.8:32, Ps.35:27, Jn.16:22, 2Tim.2:15, Jn.10:10, 3Jn.1:2, Jn.14:26, Lk.18:1, Ps.1:1-3, Jn.5:39, 1Cor.15:33

That I may know Him and the power of His salvation (Philp.3:10)

The perfect will of God for the husbandman is to grow in the knowledge of the truth of the word of God. God wants the husbandman to know Him better through Jesus Christ. And yesterday, we looked at the blessings of growing in the knowledge of the truth of God’s word for the husbandman. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that the grace to keep searching, keep learning, and keep growing in the knowledge of the word of God be poured upon you, to the end that you become all the good and godly man, husband, and father. Amen.

But how does satan fight my desire to grow in the knowledge of the truth of Jesus Christ, and how do I overcome?

Satan fights your passion and commitment to grow in the knowledge of the truth of God’s word by taking away from you the desire to study the Bible. When the desire to study the Bible is taken away from you, you become empty in the knowledge of the truth of the life of Jesus Christ and are unable to function as the good and godly man, husband and father.

For you to overcome this trick of satan, you must pant after the word of God as the deer pants after the water brook.

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2Tim.2:15)

Satan and the world fight your desire to grow in the knowledge of the truth of Jesus Christ by taking you away from fellowship with other brethren in worship, praise, and prayers, either in your local church or other Christian meetings. This is because when you fellowship with other brethren, you are strengthened spiritually.

Hence, the word of God commands you to do this to overcome.

How good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell in unity (Ps.133:1-2)

You must join yourself to good and godly company and serve in your local church. You must be in church to fellowship with other brethren and attend Christ-filled programmes.

You must recognize that satan, sin, and the world are daily contesting with your desire to live the life of the good and godly man, husband and father. So, you must be alert in your spirit, soul, and body and take responsibility to seek the knowledge of Jesus Christ for your continued growth and development as the good and godly husbandman.

Hallelujah!
