Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Eph.6:18)
Praying as a lifestyle is the husbandman’s greatest spiritual attitude that he must develop and have if he wants to continue to remain relevant and useful in his journey as the good and godly man, husband, and father.
Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, admonishes you and I to pray always.
Men ought always to pray and not faint (Lk.18:1)
As the husbandman, you must keep the fire on your prayer altar aflame. You must keep your communication with your heavenly Father open. This is the only way you can connect to God and His power, which empowers you to overcome the challenges and obstacles set on your journey to becoming the good and godly shepherd.
Jesus says,
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the powers of the enemy (Lk.10:19)
The authority and power you need to be in command of the affairs of your life as the man, husband, and father can only be activated by the weapon of prayer. You need the empowerment of God to lead a successful life as the good and godly husbandman because without the power of Jesus Christ, you can do nothing (Jn.15:5).
But what is the foundation upon which I can make my prayer effectual as the husbandman?
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour upon me the spirit of grace and supplication.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, stir up a prayer revival in my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to pray aright and give me victory.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am endued by the spirit of grace and supplication, and by this enablement, I am empowered to always pray according to the perfect will of God, thereby making me to live as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
