And be renewed in the spirit of your mind (Eph.4:23)
As the good and godly husbandman, God wants you to grow in the knowledge of Christ through the renewing of your mind. This is because the good and godly transformation you want to see in your life starts from your spirit man. And until your spirit man is renewed, your outward man cannot be transformed.
The good and godly changes you want to see in your life, in your conversation and in your attitude as God desires for you begin in your mind. Jesus says that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Matt.12:34). This is how powerful the quality of your mind affects the quality of your life and your obedience to the principles of God for you as the husbandman.
In Romans chapter 12 the word of God says this.
And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Rom.12:2)
But how do I then renew the spirit of my mind for me to order my conversation aright, live a life of godliness and holiness, and put my emotions under control?
You feed your spirit man with the truth from the word of God, and it must be continuously just the same way you eat every day. One of the ways you can do this is by identifying those areas of your life where you need to change. It could be in your conversation, reaction, or responses; it could also be how you handle your emotions and appetite for food, sex, power, money, position and authority; it could also be the challenge of knowing what God commands you to do for the good of your wife and children. Once you have written down these areas of challenge, you then search the Bible to know what God has said about them and meditate on them.
Thereafter, you engage and continue to engage the Person of the Holy Spirit to impress the word of God firmly in your heart (Philp.4:8, Rom.5:5, Ps.1:1). You pray the truth of the word of God into your life and until you become what the word of God says (Mk.9:29, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13). Engaging the weapon of prayer connects you to the power that makes all things possible, including the transformation God desires for you. The peace, joy and progress you want to experience in your life as the man, husband and father starts with the quality of what you are willing to feed your mind with. And God’s word is the right food your mind needs because that is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.

- Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my eyes to see and my ears to hear the areas where I need to grow up.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, show me the way to go by Your word
- Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to renew my mind with Your word and make me live Your perfect will.
