CALLED TO SERVE

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Lk.22:26-27, Gen.2:14-16, Jn.10:14, Is.40:11, Heb.13:20, Rom.9:16, Ecc.9:11, Eph.5:25-29, Eph.6:4, 1Tim.5:8, Deut.6:7, 1Pet.3:7, Gal.4:19, Gen.18:19, 2Tim.2:15, Hos.4:6

As the husbandman, there is only one great position God wants you to take as the good and godly man, husband and father in your home, and that is found in Luke Gospel chapter 22.

But ye shall not be so, but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For who is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? Is not he that sitteth at meat? But I am among you as HE THAT SERVETH (Lk.22:26-27)

As the good and godly husbandman, you must appreciate that God has called you to serve your wife and children faithfully and wholeheartedly. You are a servant of God ministering to the needs of your wife and children. God wants you to serve their spiritual, physical, emotional, mental, material and social needs (Eph.5:25-29, Eph.6:4, 1Tim.5:8, Deut.6:7, 1Pet.3:7, Gal.4:19, Gen.18:19). You must also serve them consistently and with joy and gladness of heart. That is what makes you the true ambassador of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of one who came to serve.

You must remember that you are not among your wife and children as one who is self-centered, manipulative, controlling and abusive. You are among them to serve them. Serving the best interest of your wife and children does not reduce your value as the husbandman, rather, it is the pathway to honour for you.

Your greatness as the man, husband and father is built on the foundation of true service and that is what God has sent you to do. Therefore, make your life a worthy servant, bringing glory and praise to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hallelujah!
