For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be CARNALLY minded is death, but to be SPIRITUALLY minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So, then they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Rom.8:5-8)
Yesterday, we began to look into the Word of God to understand the perfect will of God for the husbandman. And we discovered from Scriptures that God wants the husbandman to live by the Spirit of God’s word.
For to be carnally minded is DEATH but to be spiritually minded is LIFE and PEACE (Rom.8:6)
From this verse of Scripture, you will notice that if you are carnal, that is, thinking like the world and acting like them, it will lead to death, both physically and spiritually. Your love for the things of God starts to decline. You no longer enjoy prayer time. You see reading your bible as a burden. You desist from fellowshipping with other brethren. These are all indications of carnality, which leads to spiritual death, and it deprives you of the power to lead effectively as the good and godly husbandman (Eph.5:25, Eph.6:4, Jos.24:15).
But how do I walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus?
Salvation is the first step in your journey to a life of spirituality; hence, if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour, do it now. Today is the day for you to invite Jesus Christ into your life.
So, for you to revive your spiritual life, you must do these things. Ask the Lord Jesus Christ to help you get on track to those spiritual works that empower you to think and act according to the Word of God. Get back to your bible and prayerfully study, meditate and act on it day and night (Ps.1:1-3, Jos.1:6-8). Join a fellowship or service group in your local church. Take delight in joining other brethren for fellowship (Ps.133:1-3).
How does my spirituality bring life and peace to me?
Firstly, you are bold in righteousness because you are doing the perfect will of God as the good and godly man, husband, and father. Secondly, you are spiritually sensitive and discerning, distinguishing right from wrong. Thirdly, you grow in confidence in God and in His capacity because you know that you are doing His will for your life as the husbandman.
Enough of living a carnal life, as the husbandman! It is now time to awake unto righteousness. Do not let satan, sin and the world take you away from the things of the Spirit in Christ Jesus. Now is the time to be spiritual. It is the access to a life of peace for you, as the man, husband and father.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live by Your Spirit and walk in the newness of life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy every form of carnality in my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, restore to me the joy of my salvation.
FAITH CONFESSION
I give myself to spiritual demands of prayer, word study, fasting and fellowship with God and walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
