Over the past few days, we have been exploring the Word of God to find out how you and I can be like Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman. Praise God for His word. However, the decision to be like Jesus is a choice you have to make; hence, today, let us learn the power of choice.
Have you ever wondered how powerful your choices are? Did you realize that the choices you make each day are seeds, and like a farmer, they produce a harvest? This is why, as the husbandman, you must understand that the choices you make affect and impact not just your life but also the lives of your wife and children, who God has put in your custody to lead and shepherd.
To help your understanding of the power of choice, let us consider the examples of some husbandmen from Scriptures, who made godly choices and how it impacted their lives and generation for good.
The first husbandman was Joshua.
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye shall serve……..but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods (Jos.24:14-16)
Joshua was a man whom God chose to lead the people of Israel —including his wife and children —to the promised land. A time came when he had to make a choice, and he did. He chose to serve the Lord. He said, “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”
The second leader is Prophet Isaiah.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to make good and godly choices in my life as the man, husband and father.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with the spirit of boldness and courage to always do Your perfect will for my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, guide me through Your word and help me to love and obey You with the whole of my heart, might and strength.
FAITH CONFESSION
I choose to obey all of God’s commandments for my life as the man, husband and father, by the Spirit of obedience because that is what makes me grow and develop into the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Now that you have read the devotional, it is very important for you to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Please, pray this prayer in faith.
Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
