Bible Texts: Mark 3:23-27, Jn.10:1-3, Gen.4:2, 1Sam.17:20, 1Chro.19:9, Eph.6:25, Eph.6:4, 1Cor.13:4-7, Num.6:22-24, Gen.2:14-15
In John chapter 10 and verses 1 to 2, the Scriptures qualify who a shepherd is. The Bible says he is a good shepherd. This means that he not only provides, guides, inspires, and leads his wife and children, he also guards and protects them (Ps.23:1-6).
God has given a wife and children, who are your sheep. He also gave you a family, which is your sheepfold. God demands that you protect your sheep and sheepfold from satan, sin and the world.
And he called them unto him and said unto them in parables, how can satan cast out satan? And if a KINGDOM be divided against itself, that KINGDOM cannot stand. And if a HOUSE be divided against itself, that HOUSE cannot stand. And if satan rises up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. NO MAN CAN ENTER INTO A STRONG MAN’S HOUSE, AND SPOIL HIS GOODS, EXCEPT HE WILL FIRST BIND THE STRONG MAN, AND THEN HE WILL SPOIL HIS HOUSE (Mk.3:23-27)
As the good and godly husbandman, God has given you the authority and faith to protect your wife and children and home from any form of theft, interruptions, distractions and defilement from satan, sin and the world’s systems (Lk.10:19). Satan and sin and the system of the world cannot access your sheep and sheepfold because you are the stronger man in Christ. Remember that Christ in you is greater than anyone or anything.
No force, visible or invincible force, can enter into your sheepfold and spoil the joy, happiness, peace that already exist between you and your sheep. Why? Because you have God and you are in charge. You have the final authority over what is permissible and what is not. Satan does not have the final say. Sin doesn’t have the final say. The world does not have the final say.
Therefore, you will need to take action and exercise your authority. You must recover whatever satan, sin, and the world have stolen from your sheep and sheepfold, just like David did (1Sam.30:8). You must take your stand on God’s word and be the stronger man (Jn.10:29).
Arise and keep your wife, your children and your family secured from satan, sin and the world. That is what makes you the good and godly shepherd.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from spiritual slumber and awaken me unto spiritual fervency.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to stand strong to defend my sheep and sheepfold.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be forward looking over my sheep and sheepfold.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am the good shepherd and I keep my sheep and sheepfold safe and secured from the influences of satan, sin and the world systems because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
