BE DILIGENT AS THE HUSBANDMAN

Becoming the good and godly husbandman demands diligence, discipline and discipleship. It is a call to a higher life. It is more than talk. It is doing.

Talk is cheap, like day dreams and other useless activities. Fear God instead (Pro.5:7) NLT

The call to become the good and godly husbandman is not cheap. It requires from you diligence, commitment, sacrifice and inconvenience (Matt.5:14-16, 1Tim.3:1-6, 1Pet.3:7, Col.3:19, 1Tim.5:8, Eph.5:25, Eph.6:4).  It is more than a title, position, privilege or money. It is walking in the fear and admonition of the Lord Jesus Christ, knowing and doing all that the Bible commands for you to do as the good and godly man, husband and father.

You must understand that to love your wife as Christ has loved the church demands a lot of commitment and sacrifices (Eph.5:25, 1Cor.13:4-8).

You must also understand that it takes diligence for you to balance your busy schedule with nurturing your children in the way and admonition of the Lord (Eph.6:4, 1Tim.3:1-6 ).

You require discipline, clear vision, unwavering determination and commitment to put your mind and hand to work to earn income so you can provide for your wife, your children and others (Ps.23:1-6, 1Tim.5:8, 2Thess.3:10).

The above are proofs that your calling to become the good and godly husbandman is hard work, and the grace of God abounds to you, hence you can do all that is required of you to become the good and godly man, husband and father (Jn.14:26, Jn.15:5, Philp.2:13).

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from fear, discouragement, blame-game and laziness.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live up to the demands of my office as the husbandman.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, prosper me as I do Your perfect will as the man, husband and father.

FAITH CONFESSION

I take personal responsibility to be committed to fulfilling all the commandments of Scriptures concerning my life as the man, husband and father because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Please, pray this prayer in faith.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
