Hearken to me, ye that FOLLOW AFTER RIGHTEOUSNESS, ye that seek the Lord, look unto the rock whence ye are hewn and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. Look unto Abraham your father and unto Sarah that bare you…….(Is.51:1-2)
As we begin this new month, the word of God is reminding every husbandman to follow after Jesus Christ, His life and model. God wants your heart to pant for more of the life of Jesus Christ just as the deer pants for streams of water (Ps.42:1). God wants your thoughts, conduct, actions and relationships to be guided by the principles of the Word of God and not by the rudiments of the world or your feelings or emotions. God wants you to pursue righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost as you live and lead as the man, husband and father.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled (Matt.5:6)
The Person of the Holy Spirit will fill your hunger and thirst for righteousness, but you must desire it.
But how do I thirst after the life of Jesus Christ and pursue after righteousness?
The first step is to make your ways right with God by repenting of your sinful life and inviting Him through His Son, Jesus Christ, into your life as your Lord and Saviour (Jn.3:3-8, 2Cor.5:17).
Secondly, you must give attention to studying your Bible and meditating on every word God speaks to you by the Holy Spirit (Ezk.2:2, Jos.1:6-8, Ps.1:1-3).
Thirdly, you must pray for the love of Christ to be abundantly shed in your heart because it is the love of Christ in your heart that motivates you to do the things that please Him because He first loved you (Rom.5:5-8).
Fourthly, you must contend for the faith because of the forces of satan, sin and the world that are always opposing the manifestation of the perfect will of God for your life, which includes the life of godliness (1Cor.16:9, Eph.6:12, 2Cor.10:4).
Finally, you must continue to fellowship with good and godly husbands in and outside the church because iron sharpens iron (Pro.27:17, 1Cor.15:33, Heb.10:25).
Your heavenly Father wants you to seek Him through Jesus Christ. He wants you to be intentional about your walk of righteousness. Like Daniel, Jesus Christ wants you to always declare, “I shall defile myself with the king’s meat”.
Hallelujah!
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, wash me clean from every form of filthiness and unrighteousness.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the power of sin.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour upon me the spirit of holiness and empower me to walk in that light.
FAITH CONFESSION
I thirst for God and pursue after righteousness in all my pursuits because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Now that you have read the devotional, it is very important for you to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Please, pray this prayer in faith.
Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
