DAY 5 of FASTING AND PRAYER
Bible Texts: Rom.2:19-20, Jn.16:13, Matt.5:13-14, Ps.1:1-3, Jos.1:6-8, Jn.5:39, Pro.4:20-24, Jn.8:32, Pro.12:18, 1Tim.3:2,4, Gen.18:19, Deut.6:7-8
Discovering more of yourself in Jesus Christ and becoming like Him is the pathway that leads to fulfilling your mandate as the good and godly man, husband and father. Sadly, many husbandmen have not discovered who they are in Christ, hence the increasing incidence of leadership failure at home and in the marketplace.
So, what more can I discover about myself in Jesus Christ as the good and godly husbandman?
And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness. An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law (Rom.2:19-20)
The Word of God in Romans chapter 2 and verses 19 through 20, shows four (4) additional areas of discovery about yourself in Christ.
You must discover that you are the guide the blind as a shepherd, just as Jesus Christ, who is the good shepherd, guides His sheep. The blind here does not mean physical blindness, but people needing guidance. You are to guide your wife and children in the way that they should go until they arrive at their destination in God here on earth and be fit for eternity (Gen.18:19, Jn.16:13).
You must discover that you are the light to your sheep, just the same way Jesus is the light to all people. This means that as light, you help your wife and children come out of their confusion, be it spiritual, emotional, physical, mental and in any area of their lives. This is so important because of so much incorrect and misleading information flying around. You must give the right information to them, drawn from God’s word to your wife and your children, so they are not misled, misinformed and misguided (Matt.5:13-14, Ps.1:1-3, Jos.1:6-8).
You must discover that you are the instructor, just as Jesus was to His disciples while He was on earth. You are to give instructions to your wife and children based on the principles of the word of God. The instructions of Scripture are more enduring than any instruction from anywhere and they are life to those who find and follow them (Jn.5:39, Pro.4:20-24, Jn.8:32, Pro.12:18).
You must discover that you are a teacher, just as Jesus Christ was during His time on earth. You are your wife’s and children’s first teacher. You must teach and continue to teach your wife and children the word of God. You must continue to search the Scriptures to discover the perfect will of God for your wife and children and teach them, even as you live the life for them to see (1Tim.3:2,4, Gen.18:19, Deut.6:7-8).
There is so much that God has called you to do as the husbandman. There is yet so much of who you are in Christ that you have not discovered. You must awake to discover your identity in Jesus Christ and live the life for Jesus and for your wife, your children and in the marketplace. That is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to keep searching Your word and help me to know myself more from Your word.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my ears and eyes to discover my divine identity from Your word.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me fulfill my covenant roles as a teacher, an instructor, a guide and a light.
FAITH CONFESSION
Now I know more of the will of God for my life and I walk in the light of the truth of the word of God because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Please, pray this prayer in faith.
Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
