DAY 7 of FASTING AND PRAYER
Bible Texts: Jas.1:25, 2Tim.2:15, Eph.1:18-19, Rom.2:7, Jn.14:26, Pro.4:20-22, Deut.28:1, Ps.138:2, Jn.5:39, Eph.5:25-28, 1Pet.3:7-9, Eph.6:4, Deut.6:7
As the husbandman, the word of God is the foundation for your success as the good and godly man, husband and father. This is why you and I cannot do without the word of God because it is life (Jn.1:1-5, Jn.5:39).
Consider these Scriptures and you will appreciate the importance of God’s word in your life and why you must stand on the word.
In Joshua chapter 1, the Word of God says this.
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth but thou shalt meditate therein day and night…… (Jos.1:8)
In Psalms chapter 119, the Word of God says this.
The entrance of thy words giveth light, it giveth understanding to the simple. Order my steps in thy word and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. Thy word is very pure, therefore thy servant loveth it. (Ps.119:130, 133, 140)
In Psalms chapter 1, the Word of God says this.
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law doth he meditate day and night (Ps.1:1-2)
Now, why must I stand on the word of God, as the husbandman?
The word of God contains the principles and instructions of God. If you follow the principles and instructions, you will be blessed in all your ways. Secondly, the word of God is what you obey to become the good and godly man, husband and father. If you obey all that the Word of God commands, you become empowered to overcome the challenges of life that may come to you as the man, husband and father. Thirdly, the word of God is what gives value to the assignment of the husbandman. If you stand on the word of God and remain in the Word, your life reflects the image and likeness of Jesus Christ.
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty and CONTINUETH THEREIN, he being not a forgetful hearer but a DOER OF THE WORK, this man shall be blessed in his deed (Jas.1:25)
There is a word from God for the husbandman in the Bible. But you must take personal responsibility to search the word of God, know the word and give attention to the word of God by obeying the principles, admonitions, corrections, commandments and instructions. Therefore, keep searching the word of God, keep staying on the word, keep believing what it says and faithfully practicing what it commands you to do as the good and godly man, husband and father (Ps.1:1-3, Jas.1:25, Pro.4.20-22, Deut.28:1).

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to delight in You and Your word as a way of life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, I open my heart to receive Your instructions, commandments, admonition and principles.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to obey all Your commandments and instructions from Your word.
FAITH CONFESSION
I search and believe the word of God, and I am staying on the word to influence and determine what I think, say or do because that is what makes me become the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.

Now that you have read the devotional, it is very important for you to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Please, pray this prayer in faith.
Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
